Nursing tip:
When you're nursing, only buy small books.  That way, you can hold them and nurse at the same time  I got the strangest looks when I'd go into a bookstore and ask for a "little' book.

Fond memory:

When you're up at 4:30 in the morning, nursing, reading a  murder mystery, it's pretty cool to realize, down to your toes, that you're doing exactly what you should be doing -- and that it's the most important thing that you could be doing right now, in the whole world.  Neat!  This let me reread the entire Ngaio Marsh and Agatha Christie collections in total smugness!  Nothing like a milky baby at the breast ... and a dead body in the manor house.
